As of 1 July 2025, the Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program
became active, expanding the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) to include
solar batteries for the first time.

• Only the first 50 kWh of usable capacity qualifies for STCs, even if the
  system’s nominal capacity is larger.
