Get up to $50,000 towards your solar and battery

Applications are now open for the state government’s Small Business Energy Efficiency Grants scheme.

The scheme is aimed at supporting small businesses and their crucial role in monitoring and reducing our population’s carbon footprint, with an added bonus of helping small businesses to save on their energy bills over the long-term.

 

About the Grant

The South Australian State Government will reimburse businesses up to 50% matched funding for eligible expenditure, up to a maximum value of $50,000. The grants can cover equipment or solutions that will make your business more energy efficient.

The energy efficiency list includes:

  • Power supply and generation – includes battery storage systems and solar panels
  • Lighting and electrical
  • Energy efficient appliances (4-star rating or better)
  • Heating, cooling and refrigeration
  • Water heating
  • Motors, pumps, fans and compressors
  • Building upgrades
  • Process automation, controls and optimisation
  • Other unique projects/equipment

 

Am I eligible?

Full eligibility criteria can be found on the state government website (https://business.sa.gov.au), however some key points:

  • Must have a valid and active ABN, and be registered for GST
  • Must be located in South Australia
  • Be consuming less than 160 MWh of electricity per year, OR have an Australia-wide grouped payroll of less than $1.5 million in 2023-24
  • Not be a home-based business
  • Not be a public company
  • You must own or lease the business premises where any works or goods will be installed or used
  • Be able to provide matched funding of at least 50% of eligible costs.
